These three young ladies represent me, my daughter Tina and my great granddaughter Madison. I enjoyed the beauty and magic of dance as a child and I introduced my daughter to dance. She danced from age six to age fifteen. My great granddaughter has been dancing for three years. I enjoy bright, bold and beautiful colors. Impasto was added for texture. The swirls represent the freedom of movement one feels when dancing.
About Margaret Harmon
As a painter, my goal is to inspire, not just reproduce a subject on a canvas. I like my colors bold with subjects drawn in large, generous forms. I want my work to touch the inner impulse and passion of my viewers. To me, producing art is liberating. Whether I work directly from a perceived subject, plain air, or abstractly, I am most concerned about the work's overall composition and formal aspects. My colors tend to be bright and bold. Bright colors make me happy, and I aspire to convey that feeling to my viewers and customers. I am a native of Sikeston, Missouri, and a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, with a BS in Historic Preservation.
