A "Two Woman Show" at the Zachary Branch of the East Baton Rouge Library on Church Street (near LeBlanc's Grocery & Hardware) will display art works by Margaret Harmon and Geana Rust between November 1 and November 31, 2012. Each will display about twenty-four original artworks in the show and they are for sale. An opening Artist's Reception will be held at the library from 2:30p to 4:00p in the meeting room on November 4th. The public is invited to attend.

The Regional Arts Council of Zachary showcased local talent Saturday Morning, November 12th at the 2nd Saturday Community Market. The gazebo in the Zachary Historical District was alive with talent, including the ZHS Bronco Beat Chorus, directed by Jason Bowers, Northwestern Middle School Drama students performed excerpts from Grease, directed by Paula Swilley, dance performances by the Bella Ballet Troupe choreographed by Chrissy Ashford, and a book-signing by published author Anne Butler of St. Francisville. There was also a Student Art Show representing all Zachary Schools on display.
The Arts Council revealed its new Logo at the Blending of the Arts. A contest was open to all members of the community to develop a logo to represent the organization. Close to 50 entries were received and the winner was local Zachary High School art teacher Megan Buccere who was presented with a $200 check for her design.

Local artist Margaret Cline Harmon exhibits artwork at City Utility Office
The City of Zachary is proud to showcase one of the many talented artists from the Zachary Artist Guild at the City Hall Utility Office. Local artist Margaret Cline Harmon is presently exhibiting three pieces of her oil painting collection. Margaret has a passion for painting birds, flowers, plain air landscapes and whimsical characters.
Margaret Cline Harmon is a native of Sikeston, Mo., and a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in historic preservation. She had an interesting career in travel and relocation management in the corporate world prior to retirement in 2004. Margaret and her husband, Tom, live in Zachary. They returned to Louisiana in 2008 to be near their daughter and son-in-law, Robert and Tina Harmon Havard of Clinton, and their grandson Trey Havard and his family in Slaughter.
