I painted this home while on a Plain Aire trip to Norwood Plantation in St. Francisville, Louisiana. The owners were delightful guests and allowed about a dozen artists to tour the plantation and paint where ever we wanted. This house is very large but it has only eight LARGE rooms. An enchanting place!
About Margaret Harmon
As a painter, my goal is to inspire, not just reproduce a subject on a canvas. I like my colors bold with subjects drawn in large, generous forms. I want my work to touch the inner impulse and passion of my viewers. To me, producing art is liberating. Whether I work directly from a perceived subject, plain air, or abstractly, I am most concerned about the work's overall composition and formal aspects. My colors tend to be bright and bold. Bright colors make me happy, and I aspire to convey that feeling to my viewers and customers. I am a native of Sikeston, Missouri, and a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, with a BS in Historic Preservation.
