Artist's Description

This state house was built in the Depression and is in Art Deco design. The burial place of Huey Long is placed directly in front of the capital. There is a mass of beautiful Live Oak trees draped in Spanish Moss on either side of Huey Long's stature. It has 50 steps from street level to the massive copper doors. The back elevators is where Huey Long as assassinated.

I want my work to touch the inner impulse and passion of my viewers. To me, producing art is liberating. Whether I work directly from a perceived subject, plain air, or abstractly, I am most concerned about the work's overall composition and formal aspects. My colors tend to be bright and bold. Bright colors make me happy, and I aspire to convey that feeling to my viewers and customers. I am a native of Sikeston, Missouri, and a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, with a BS in Historic Preservation.
