Artist's Description

Peacocks are one of my favorite birds. They are beautiful, majestic, and a subject I enjoy painting. This painting is a close up one that stays in one of my friend's neighborhood. Several people leave him food, and he belongs to the entire community. He has the most unusual and beautiful eyes I have ever seen. I believe the painting captures those beautiful eyes.

As a painter, my goal is to inspire, not just reproduce a subject on a canvas. I like my colors bold with subjects drawn in large, generous forms. I want my work to touch the inner impulse and passion of my viewers. To me, producing art is liberating. Whether I work directly from a perceived subject, plain air, or abstractly, I am most concerned about the work's overall composition and formal aspects. My colors tend to be bright and bold. Bright colors make me happy, and I aspire to convey that feeling to my viewers and customers. I am a native of Sikeston, Missouri, and a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, with a BS in Historic Preservation.
