Artist's Description

I once lived near Pioneer Orchard in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Every year I walked down the rows of apple, peach, and pear trees and was amazed at the show Mother Nature displays each spring. The sights and smells of the orchard are still fresh in my memories. I painted these pears from my memory of those earlier days of living near the Pioneer Orchard.

As a painter, my goal is to inspire, not just reproduce a subject on a canvas. I like my colors bold with subjects drawn in large, generous forms. I want my work to touch the inner impulse and passion of my viewers. To me, producing art is liberating. Whether I work directly from a perceived subject, plain air, or abstractly, I am most concerned about the work's overall composition and formal aspects. My colors tend to be bright and bold. Bright colors make me happy, and I aspire to convey that feeling to my viewers and customers. I am a native of Sikeston, Missouri, and a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, with a BS in Historic Preservation.
