II was looking for something to inspire me to paint and there it was...vintage perfume bottles on my night stand. People put different things on their night stands and dressing tables. I love vintage perfume bottles so I placed a silver mirror, my pearls and a vase of some of my favorite flowers and I had a still life to paint. Color controls ones mood and this painting is meant to make you happy. I used metallic paint to add punch. It was my first time to use metallic paint and it was a challenge to produce the look I desired. I hope you enjoy the painting and that you purchase a print or pillow. As a painter, my goal is to inspire, not just reproduce a subject on a canvas. I like my colors bold with subjects drawn in large, generous forms. I want my work to touch the inner impulse and passion of my viewers. To me, producing art is liberating. Whether I work directly from a perceived subject, plain air, or abstractly, I am most concerned about the work's overall composition and formal aspects. My colors tend to be bright and bold. Bright colors make me happy, and I aspire to convey that feeling to my viewers and customers.
