This still life was for a workshop. It was closer to everyone else's than what I usually do in workshops and classes. It is a simple bowl of fruit.

This still life was for a workshop. It was closer to everyone else's than what I usually do in workshops and classes. It is a simple bowl of fruit.

Margaret Harmon

As a painter, my goal is to inspire, not just reproduce a subject on a canvas. I like my colors bold with subjects drawn in large, generous forms. I want my work to touch the inner impulse and passion of my viewers. To me, producing art is liberating. Whether I work directly from a perceived subject, plain air, or abstractly, I am most concerned about the work's overall composition and formal aspects. My colors tend to be bright and bold. Bright colors make me happy, and I aspire to convey that feeling to my viewers and customers. I am a native of Sikeston, Missouri, and a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, with a BS in Historic Preservation.
