Paramount Theater In Baton Rouge metal print by Margaret Harmon.   Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Artist's Description

Sadly, this performing theater, turned movie theater, was destroyed in the late 1970s in downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was beautiful inside with her high painted ceiling, box seats on each side of the stage and architectural details lost but not forgotten. To see her broken and spewed around the work site was very sad. All the elements of fine workmanship, high design and by gone elegance was exposed to anyone who wished to take one final look. We are losing part of our culture on a yearly basis and this is just one example.

As a painter, my goal is to inspire, not just reproduce a subject on a canvas. I like my colors bold with subjects drawn in large, generous forms. I want my work to touch the inner impulse and passion of my viewers. To me, producing art is liberating. Whether I work directly from a perceived subject, plain air, or abstractly, I am most concerned about the work's overall composition and formal aspects. My colors tend to be bright and bold. Bright colors make me happy, and I aspire to convey that feeling to my viewers and customers. I am a native of Sikeston, Missouri, and a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, with a BS in Historic Preservation.
