The Common Pleas Court House in Cape Girardeau, Missouri is a pre Civil War Era Court House. It was used to house Confederate Soldiers in the basement and you can still see and walk in the cells. Cape Girardeau County was one of the original five counties of Missouri Territories west of the Mississippi River after the Louisiana Purchase.
As a painter, my goal is to inspire, not just reproduce a subject on a canvas. I like my colors bold with subjects drawn in large, generous forms. I want my work to touch the inner impulse and passion of my viewers. To me, producing art is liberating. Whether I work directly from a perceived subject, plain air, or abstractly, I am most concerned about the work's overall composition and formal aspects. My colors tend to be bright and bold. Bright colors make me happy, and I aspire to convey that feeling to my viewers and customers.
