Artist's Description

This is a typical scene off the coast of Louisiana. At lease as we know it today. My favorite sky is one with orange in it and this scene is very special because of the calmness in the waters and its intense, fiery sky. Louisianians love their waterways, bayous, boats and spicy food.

As a painter, my goal is to inspire, not just reproduce a subject on a canvas. I like my colors bold with subjects drawn in large, generous forms. I want my work to touch the inner impulse and passion of my viewers. To me, producing art is liberating. Whether I work directly from a perceived subject, plain air, or abstractly, I am most concerned about the work's overall composition and formal aspects. My colors tend to be bright and bold. Bright colors make me happy, and I aspire to convey that feeling to my viewers and customers.
